The highly-anticipated Kickstarter game Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night received a fairly major new update now, and unfortunately most of it’s awful news.
Bloodstained’s producer Koji Igarashi declared via a new Kickstarter update for the game it has now been pushed in to 2019. Iga said that the main reason for this delay is because of opinions they received after releasing the beta to Kickstarter backers in which they understood that they need to raise the game’s quality level, which may take longer time than initially anticipated.
Iga said that the main reason for this cancellation is, “mostly due to Sony’s plans to discontinue the Vita console, stopping production of bodily copies and stopping certain online store service attributes. ” That isn’t a sudden revelation but it’s just but one that still is a shame, nonetheless. My thoughts are with our former author, Azario Lopez, throughout this stressful time.
If you endorsed the game on Kickstarter and chose Vita as your system, now you can pick a new platform to obtain the game upon if it starts or you can get your cash back. Expect an email from Fangamer soon to assist you through this process.
Iga ended the post by stating that he apologizes to the disappointment with both these parts of information and assured fans that he and the team are still working harder than ever before to provide them the game they need. Delays such as this are never enjoyable but when the final product reflects what it is that both myself and others wanted from Iga’s come back to the genre, then I’ll be pleased in the end.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is scheduled to launch on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and Switch as it releases in 2019.
