Shenmue III Delayed to 2019 to Polish the Game to “the High Standards it Deserves “

PC, PS4

Now publisher Deep Silver and developer Ys Net made an announcement to affirm that the anticipated 2018 launch window is no longer.

Deep Silver mentioned that the game will acquire additional polish to the “high criteria it deserves” and a greater launch interval.

“Deep Silver today announced their upcoming release Shenmue III has been transferred and will now launch in 2019.

The additional time will be used to polish the grade of the game even further, to the standards it deserves and launch the item in the greatest possible interval. “

Yu Suzuki himself followed with a comment, expressing his apologies and assuring to use the tame to improve the standard of the game farther.

“To all our backers, we are extremely sorry for the delay. After much debate with our partners, Deep Silver, we’ve concluded that extending the discharge will permit us to send Shenmue III at its best. We guarantee to utilize this opportunity to improve the caliber of Shenmue III.

We can’t thank you enough for your enduring support. ”

This is the second time that the game is delayed, after the first slip announced in June 2018, almost exactly one year ago.

To be fair, the tidbit regarding the “best potential timeframe” for release might also be telling. This year we’re becoming Shenmue I & II out of Sega, and it would make little sense for a small programmer like Ys Web to start the third chapter of this series ahead of the younger generations have a chance to take a look at the first two.

Shenmue III is due to launch for PS4 and PC.   Incidentally, for the sake of full disclosure, the author of this guide is one of the first Kickstarter backers of this game.
