Throughout Take-Two’s financial conference call for the financial year ended on March 31st, Chief Executive Officer Strauss Zelnick declared a new sales milestone for Grand Theft Auto V.
We heard that the game has 95 million units delivered at March 31st, 2018, following the introduction of the Premium Online Edition.
As usual, Grand Theft Auto Online exceeded the publisher’s expectations during the previous fiscal quarter and remains its main contributor for recurring consumer spending (Fundamentally microtransactions for people who aren’t familiar with the company language).
The preceding shipment milestone, at over 90 million units, was announced only in February, while the other at 85 million units was unveiled in November. This means that the game was promoting approximately five thousand units every 3 months, which will be bonkers.
Grand Theft Auto V is currently available for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. It was initially launched in September 2013 for PS3 and Xbox 360, followed by a launching on PS4 and Xbox One in November 2014, and around PC at April 2015.
