Kingdom Hearts III: Square Enix Did Not Announce an E3 Release Date Reveal Despite Reports

In case you followed that the Kingdom Hearts III news over the weekend, you most likely have heard that the allegation that the game’s launch date will soon be announced at E3.

This was triggered by a single tweet in Western by a user who appeared to indicate this launch timing. It was picked up and mistaken as an true report of a formal announcement by many fansites, and even press sites which did not confirm its validity. As it happens, this sort of rumors tend to propagate virally, and they’re rather tough to stop.

After we checked the tweet out, it was clear to us that the writer wasn’t in attendance, and he seemed to be merely speculating that since the release date wasn’t disclosed at D23 Expo, it was probably likely to come at E3.

In order to get to the bottom of the problem, DualShockers achieved to Square Enix, that confirmed our feeling: there was no mention of a launch date timing in the show.

The single official information about the release time stays the “2018” in the end of the trailer. It’s’s worth mentioning that this doesn’t imply that E3 is revealed in by a launch date at June is impossible, but only that Square Enix didn’t announce it, therefore when it comes we ll need to wait and see.
