Indigenous Action-Adventure Game Mulaka Receives Release Dates For All Platforms

PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One

Last year, independent  programmer Lienzo unveiled Mulaka, an action-adventure game with a story and atmosphere profoundly rooted in mythology, history, and culture of those  Tarahumara people, that are indigenous   to Northern Mexico.  It certainly   piqued my curiosity, but it hadn’t yet got a firm launch date, just a vague “early 2018” launch window. That changed today, however, as Lienzo has shown while the game will soon be hitting PC, PS4, Xbox One, along with Nintendo Switch.

Even the PC and PS4 variations of Mulaka will be the first to start, coming out on February 27. The Nintendo Switch version of the game comes alongside March 1, with the Xbox One port rounding things out as it releases on March 2. The game is currently available to pre-order platforms, using a portion of its proceeds going to an NGO which supports both the Tarahumara’s area. These NGO donations will also last once Mulaka has been published on all platforms.

For people who wish to learn more about this Tarahumara culture, Lienzo has previously published a series of movies that go into detail about the culture, its people, and its own mythology. It’s surely  an intriguing watch for those of you who like history, particularly since it is a facet of Mexican culture that isn’t composed often in mainstream media or schooling.

According to Lienzo, their research   wound spawning a game that includes brutal hand-to-hand combat, a low-poly yet colorful art design, the capacity to turn into some demigod, and enemies based on mythological animals that aren’t that well known. That being said, Lienzo considers that the entire game an authentic representation of those indigenous   men and women, and will instruct people on a topic they probably don’t understand about.

It is possible to see the preview that shows the game’so release date under. Mulaka will discharge for  about $19.99 on PC and PS4 February 27, Nintendo Switch March 1, 5 and also Xbox One March 2.
