For an extremely fun co-op puzzle game that helped bolster the Nintendo Switch’s quite compact launch lineup, which I was pleased to hear that Nintendo has been releasing a new variant of the game with Snipperclips Plus: Cut it Out, Together! That attracted some new items to the table. One of those new items is the fact that the Joy-Cons are no more needed to perform that game.
According to a meeting which IGN needed with Nintendo and developer SFB Games, Snipperclips Plus: Cut it Out, Together! Will eventually let players utilize all of the Switch’s other exceptional control choices contrary to the Joy-Cons to play with the game. Snipperclips did a very amazing job at demonstrating what the Joy-Cons can perform, but I always believed that having additional control selections for people who don’t enjoy using a single Joy-Con could’ve been fine.
Todd Buechele, Nintendo’s Assistant Manager of Product Development, actually revealed that this was something that the developers always wished to add to the game but didn’t have enough opportunity to implement until the evolution of Snipperclips Plus: Cut it Out Together! :
“We have always wanted to encourage them, even from the start. It was just something that we ended up having to shelve in the moment, which was actually one of the main goals when we looked in Snipperclips Plus. “
For the Ones That own the original version of Snipperclips, a free update will be publishing in the coming weeks that implements that support to the bottom game:
“It will really be a default in Snipperclips Plus, and then we are publishing a patch for Snipperclips next week that will bring Pro Controller and Grip support to all players who have already downloaded the game. It’s a free upgrade, so that capacity will be there very shortly”
If you wish to find the game in action, then you are able to check out a previously released overview trailer.
